Jerome Begin
(Composer) has been commissioned by the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, The Juilliard School, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Ballet Philippines, The Sacramento Ballet, The Alabama Ballet, The Richmond Ballet, and many other dance companies throughout the US. His works have been performed in the US, Korea, and Japan. He has accompanied and taught for many dance companies, universities, studios, and festivals throughout the U.S. and internationally. Jerome is a founding member of the Left Hand Path Ensemble, a new music ensemble in New York City consisting of piano, cello, and percussion. Jerome currently resides in New York where he works as a freelance composer and performer. He currently serves as Music Advisor on the faculty of the Juilliard School Dance Division.
José Luis Bustamante
(Video) Originally from Mexico, José Luis Bustamante received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Communication Sciences from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. In 1984, José Bustamante joined Sharir Dance Company. In 1997, after thirteen years of dancing and creating works for the company, Mr. Bustamante became artistic Co-Director and the company changed its name to Sharir+Bustamante Danceworks. In 2004 he became artistic director of Sharir+Bustamante Danceworks.
In 1993 he received a New Forms Regional Initiative Grant with performance artist Sally Jacques, as well as prestigious Choreographer Fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1993, 1994 and 1995. His work has been commissioned by Ballet Austin, Cleveland's Repertory Project, Florida State University and the University of Texas at Austin.
He has served as a panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts and Dance Advance in Philadelphia. He is currently the Dance Department Chair at Austin Community College and has recently completed an MFA in Dance from Hollins University/American Dance Festival.
Jonathan Melville Pratt
(Composer) is a composer, singer, percussionist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer living in Brooklyn. Jonathan earned his bachelors degree in Classical Voice and “Interdisciplinary Composition” from The North Carolina School of the Arts in 2001. Jonathan has been commissioned to compose and perform original music for John Dillon, Brian Mertes, Trish Casey, Sean Sullivan, Erin Beneze, Alana Stroud, Alban Elved Dance Company, Djamilla Moore, Chih-Chun Huang, Sarah Percival, Mimi Garrard Dance Company, Via Dance Collaborative, Daniel Charon, Jennifer Nugent, Jonah Bokaer, Amelia Uzategui, The Julliard School of Dance, Cindy Salgado, Jessica Harris, and The Julliard School of Drama. Upcoming projects include score and performance of "Funkprint" for Brooke Broussard at Reverb, Fresh tracks, and NOLA fringe festivals this fall; Percussion composition and performance for new original ballet, Dracula, composed by Felix Venturas and performed site specific by Island Moving Company in October, and Jonathan was one of 5 of 760 applicants from 60 countries to recently have been awarded the Sacatar International Arts Fellowship in Bahia, Brazil. The residency runs January 2nd to February 28th 2011. Jonathan also recently made his directorial/choreography debut creating a multi media works “The Playdate” And “After Never” with writer/poet Ian Merrigan.
