Jenna Fakhoury

A native of Asheville, NC, Jenna graduated from the North Carolina School of the Arts for contemporary dance in 2007. During her time there, she had the pleasure of performing dance works by artists such as Doug Varone, David Parsons, Pauline Koner, and Ton Simons as well as the role of "Anita" in West Side Story. Since graduating, Jenna has danced with the Jose Limon Dance Company, SteeleDance, and is a current member of Shen Wei Dance Arts.

Lindsay Fisher

is a native of western Pennsylvania. She is currently dancing with Ellen Cornfield and Dancers and the VIA Dance Collaborative in New York City where she choreographs and is a founding member. Her last piece of choreography was shown at the Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater and featured on the front page of the NYC Metro Newspaper. Other works of Lindsay's have been seen at St. Mark's Church, University Settlement and SUNY Fredonia. She has also danced with Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company, Nathan Trice/ R I T U A L S, Daniel Charon, Camille A Brown, Ayo Janeen Jackson, Twyla Tharp, Jiri Kylian, Brenda Daniels, Sean Sullivan, Steve Rooks for the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra, John Jasperse and Miguel Gutierrez among others. Her Career as both a dancer and choreographer has allowed her to travel throughout the United States and all over Eastern and Western Europe. Though she has a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree as a Sarah Graham Kenan Scholar from the Prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts as a Contemporary Dancer; she has also perfomed in Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera's "West Side Story" and North Shore Musical Theater's "Victor/Victoria". Her film credits include the lead Arabian in Robert Lindgren's "Nutcracker" and the feature film "Across the Universe" with Desmond Richardson and directed by Julie Taymor. Lindsay is very excited to be working with Ms. Simoneau once again!

HeJin Jang

was born and raised in Seoul, Korea, where she finished her undergraduate degree in dance from Seoul National University in 2004. After moving to the U.S in 2004, Jang started teaching Modern dance classes as a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Michigan where she finished her MFA study in dance in 2006 as a Rackham Merit Fellow. She also won several grants for choreography and research project during her stay in Michigan. Jang has taught modern technique and choreography classes in both U.S and Korea including at the American Dance Festival WFSS. She taught Movement Studio 2 & 3 as an adjunct faculty at the Hollins University while getting her second MFA in dance from HU/ADF program. Jang has worked with such artists as Alexandra Beller, Peter Sparling, Doug Varone, Robin Wilson, Tatiana Baganova, Emily Wexler, Lyndsey Karr, Deborah Hazler, Nora Stephens and Jerome Bell. Jang presented her works throughout U.S., Korea and Europe. Her solo work, 'The Road Outside of Barracks (2005)' won grand prize at the Christian Dance Fellowship Festival in Korea. Jang's work, 'Sealed in Stone (2006)' got invited to the conference "RUINS AND RECONSTRUCTIONS: POMPEII IN THE POPULAR IMAGINATION," at the University of Bristol, U.K where she presented her paper and work as a 20th century's artist in July, 2007. Currently, she presented her work in progress 'Do not lean on door(2007)' at the DUMBO Dance Festival in September, 2008.

Gena Mann

grew up in Atlanta, Ga. She received her MA in Contemporary Dance from The London Contemporary Dance School (Kent University), trained at North Carolina School of the Arts and danced in 2006 at the Bessie Schoenberg Choreographers and Dancers Residency at The Yard. Since moving to New York City, she has worked with choreographers Leonides Arpon, Daniel Charon, Ellen Cornfield, Charlotte Griffin, Naomi Goldberg-Haas, Philippa Kaye, Colin Poole and VIA Dance Collaborative. Gena wants to thank her family and friends for all their love and support.

Catherine Miller

is a Brooklyn based dance artist, received her BFA from the North Carolina School of the Arts. She has toured with Shen Wei Dance Arts, Doug Varone and Dancers, Mark Dendy Dance and Theatre, Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company; performed with Fiona Dolenga/Hidden Arena, Jonah Bokaer/Chez Bushwick, Ze’eva Cohen & Friends, Sally Schuilling Dance, Karla Wolfangle, and has been a guest artist with the Metropolitan Opera, Opera Colorado, Minnesota Opera and the Aquila Theatre Company. Ms. Miller premiered several of her own works as an invited artist at the Yard and was a 2005 Brooklyn Community Access Television (BCAT) /Rotunda Gallery multi-media artist in residence. She was Cofounder and Director of the Pluck Project in the performance showcase’s inaugural year. Her choreography has been produced at the Yard, Context Theatre, 3rd Street Music School, Take a Chance Festival, Steven’s Center, Purchase College, and NCSA. Ms. Miller was an Associate Director of Dance at the NC Governor’s School and is a frequent guest faculty at NCSA. In addition, she has taught master classes and set the works of Doug Varone at various institutions including 92nd Street Y, U of Maryland, Rutgers, Dancewave and regularly teaches in New York at Dance New Amsterdam.

Manelich Minniefee

grew up in Fayetteville, NC where he began dancing at the age of 15. He graduated high school from North Carolina School of the Arts where he first met Helen Simoneau. Manelich went on to receive a Bachelors of Fine Art in dance from NYU's Tisch school of the arts in 2003. Later that year he became a member of Pilobolus Dance Theater, touring full time for five years. Manelich is currently dancing part time for PDT and is very exited to finally be working with Helen.

Adrienne Westwood

envisioned the rotating artistic leadership of VIA Dance Collaborative while a student at North Carolina School of the Arts (BFA 2003) and realized its formation when awarded the Kenan Fellowship at Lincoln Center Institute for Arts in Education. The company debuted at the Clark Studio Theater in 2004. In June 2007, an evening of her work was presented at Inside/Out at Jacob’s Pillow, and she continued the same project, Lullaby in Surrealism, through fall 2008 with the help of a commissioning grant from the Double-R Foundation and grants from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and the Mary Duke Biddle Foundation. Her work has also been presented at Joyce SoHo, Joe’s Pub and Dance Theater Workshop (Dancenow/NYC); Dixon Place; Dance New Amsterdam; the McCallum Theatre (Palm Desert, California); and at SUNY Fredonia, where she was visiting assistant professor of dance in 2005 and where she returned to create work last year. Other key influences include dancing with Daniel Charon, Monica Bill Barnes (in a fountain in Bowling Green Park!), Helen Simoneau, Stephan Koplowitz, Reggie Wilson, and Russian choreographer Sasha Pepelyaev. She has been an artist in residence at North Carolina School of the Arts, Performatica (Puebla, Mexico) and Island Moving Company (upcoming, fall 2008). She is a teaching artist for Lincoln Center Institute.

Jesse Zaritt

was born in Worcester, MA; BA from Pomona College (2000), MFA From Hollins/ADF (2008). Performed with the Hollins Dance Project, Shen Wei Dance Arts, and the Inbal Pinto Dance Company. Recipient of a Dorot Fellowship in Israel 2006-2007, and a LABA artist residency at the 14th St Y (Manhattan, 2008-present), ADF faculty 2008, 2009.
